Mission Statement
The stark racial and ethnic disparities in clinical trials are nothing new in the medical field. Given the long history of abuse in the medical system, particularly in the United States, studies and anecdotes have shown that communities of color distrust the healthcare system. In recent studies, researchers have found that even with illnesses affecting communities of color at higher rates, white participants remain the majority in clinical trials.

The aim of this study is to help mend the disparities in clinical trials by engaging Black and Latino members in the conversation on clinical research and to develop informed, culturally sensitive messages for clinical trial recruitment.

We believe members of the Black and Hispanic communities should have equal participation opportunities and information to join clinical research trials. This can change the future of effective clinical research trials.
